Meet CDQ’s SAP Focus Group

Stronger Together – Leverage the Full Potential of SAP’s Data Management Tools

In 2015, CDQ launched the SAP Focus Group as an international platform for experienced SAP users to share knowledge, tackle common challenges, and improve data management practices.

The initiative brings together companies to discuss their experiences with SAP data management tools (such as SAP MDG, SAP S/4, SAP BDC), identify shared challenges, and align on specific requirements. These insights are shared with SAP product management, enhancing their influence as they represent multiple organizations.

The focus group also promotes open exchanges among peers from leading companies, allowing participants to discuss best practices and gain practical insights from real-world implementations.

Benefits of a CDQ's SAP Focus Group Membership

  • Receive exclusive updates from SAP product managers.
  • Share experiences and best practices with peers from leading organizations
  • Participate in interactive break-out sessions addressing real-world challenges.
  • Expand your network within the CDQ SAP community.

Target Audience

This exclusive benefit is available to CDQ Data Sharing Community members and members of the CC CDQ at no extra cost. Selected guests and prospects may join by invitation. Participants should have hands-on experience with at least one SAP data management tool. Participation requires a signed feedback agreement (FBA) with SAP.

What does CDQ's SAP focus group currently work on?

Topics of the CDQ's SAP Focus Group 2026

Focus group members set the agenda and jointly decide on topics of high relevance in a planning session. In 2026, the community meets in two workshops and discusses the topics during interactive break-out sessions. Further, SAP provides status updates on these topics, as well as on new features and releases.

In addition to this year’s strategic topics - AI in Master Data Governance (MDG), and SAP MDG in the context of BDC data products and intelligent apps - the focus group discusses the following topics in break-out sessions:

# Managing not-harmonized systems with a global MDG system
# Cloud-ready mode – close the gaps and simple process implementation
# Upgrade MDG / S/4 HANA to release 2025
# Role of MDG for Business AI
# Federation concept in MDG
# MDC: CDQ integration

Tackle SAP challenges collaboratively

We wanted to give several companies a chance to first exchange whether they have same questions and then jointly share collected feedback with SAP Product Management. As a result, we started SAP Focus Group to bring together professionals dealing with similar challenges.

Operating since 2015, we were able to establish a solid relationship with SAP. Join us to share best practices, collaboratively prioritize requirements for SAP MDG and exchange ideas.
